About

Why Maydm

Guided by the words of civil rights leader Mary Church Terrell, “Lift as I climb,” I am drawn to Maydm because its mission aligns perfectly with my commitment to creating pathways where girls and students of color can see their brilliance reflected in spaces where they have been historically excluded. As Director of Development, I leverage my experience as an educator, strategist, advocate, and changemaker to build equitable pipelines that support students from curiosity to career, ensuring they are prepared not only to enter STEM and innovation fields, but to thrive as leaders. I am inspired by the opportunity to advance Maydm’s impact and expand programs that transform education and equity for young people.

Background

Christin brings more than a decade of experience working at the intersection of higher education, nonprofit leadership, and statewide education initiatives, with a particular focus on pipeline programming that supports students of color across the educational continuum.

Her work spans both university and nonprofit settings, where she has designed, led, and supported programs that recruit, prepare, and retain students, particularly Black students and other underrepresented populations, for postsecondary success and workforce readiness. She has extensive experience building cross-sector partnerships among K-12  school districts, universities, nonprofits, foundations, and community leaders to align programming, resources, and opportunities in service of student success.

In addition to her programmatic work, Christin has served in leadership and advisory roles across statewide and regional initiatives focused on equity, education access, and talent development. Her work is grounded in relationship building, community voice, and collaboration, recognizing that sustainable pipelines are built not by single institutions, but through coordinated effort and shared responsibility.

Christin earned a Master of Education in Education Policy and Management from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Mississippi, graduating summa cum laude and as a member of Phi Beta Kappa. She is currently completing her doctoral studies in Educational Policy Studies at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, focusing on her dissertation research, with an expected graduation in May 2027.

Her leadership has been recognized with honors including InBusiness Magazine’s 40 Under 40, Brava Magazine’s Woman to Watch, the Martin Luther King Jr Image Award for Emerging Leadership, and the University of Mississippi’s Inaugural Alumni Early Impact Award.
